Electricity Prices
Notification of Electricity prices for March 2026
Please note these can fluctuate monthly
Availability: £7.47 per month
Please note: The day and night rates FWP charges PSL are the current cost of grid imports to the Park, plus FWP's costs of transforming the high voltage power purchased to the low voltage power supplied to PSL. The costs of transforming the power include transformer losses (added to the unit price) and transformer maintenance (capacity charges on the bill PSL receive). This pricing structure reflects the structure of the bill PSL would receive if it purchased power directly from a grid supplier.
PSL operates a three tariff system; Standard, Day and Night and the incoming bill from FWP to PSL has to be ‘translated’ into these three rates to be applied to the monthly bills issued at the Park. In compliance with Ofgem’s Maximum Resale Price Regulation, there is no mark-up used in this calculation. The detail of this calculation is available on request.
Prices for February 2026 were:
Standard rate 25.10 pence
Day rate 27.10 pence
Night rate 24.39 pence
FWP statement on the sourcing of Park Electricity:
When the wind does not blow strongly enough or the sun doesn’t shine for long enough (FWP has a number of PV panels in East Whins) to generate all the power required for the Park, FWP imports the balance from the grid. About half the power used by the Park is purchased from the grid. A similar amount is exported to the grid when generation is higher than the local demand. The growth of the Park estate means FWP is now more often a net importer rather than an exporter of electricity.
