Connection Tariff

Overview

A Temporary (during construction stage) supply is available at a cost tbc plus VAT due at the time the supply is installed and is in addition to Connection fees. To change the fuse amperage (provided there is grid availability), there is a cost tbc (plus vat) per every 20A (restricted to Single Phase connections).

If you are thinking of asking for a new or re-connection, please note the above and if you considering a Photovoltaic (PV) panel array then please do refer to our separate page regarding such installations BEFORE you design your system. * Photovoltaic (PV) panels require additional metering arrangements and will therefore incur additional costs over and above those stated. All PV and Battery installations are on hold until we have further clarity from the FWP who are awaiting on a response from SSE

  1. All new and re-connections to the Park’s electricity network are billed a one-off connection charge, which funds the maintenance and development of the network as a whole. Connections will be charged according to a tariff system, the rates of which are reviewed annually.

  2. One key aim of this system is to introduce a clear incentive for applicants who intend to moderate their requirements, with a premium placed (**) on those who plan to use a lot of energy. Supplies will be mechanically regulated to that rate requested and paid for by the applicant.

  3. Our standard tariff system is based on whether the land is already serviced or a new build. For existing serviced sites, all plots on the FBCP licence (caravan sites), East and smaller properties in West Whins are considered to be serviced at 60 amps (larger properties 80 and 100 amp) and new builds in North Whins will vary dependent on demand requirements with 60, 80 and 100 amp plots.

  4. The connection charge buys the right to share the benefits of being connected to the Park’s electrical network, which includes the availability of an appropriate point at which to connect. PSL are responsible for the installation and maintenance of the network up to and including the meter, which records customer usage. The customer is responsible for the provision and installation of any new or additional equipment, such as switchgear and cabling, that is required to make the final connection to the end user (i.e. from the meter to the consumer unit). However, PSL are happy to organise and supply any equipment needed for this or, the developer may choose to provide it themselves for PSL to install, for which a separate quote is available on request.

Please note that final connections will only be made once installations have been confirmed to have met PSL standards and current regulations.

The current standards required by the Park Electric division are as follows:

    1. For an existing installation (e.g. static caravan): Satisfactory assessment by Park Servicess electricians.

    2. For a new build: Production of an Electrical Installation (‘Dead Test’) Certificate signed off by a registered electrician.

The current regulations required by the Park Electricity division for installations are the IEE Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition.
